Kynžvart Chateau

The small spa town of Lázně Kynžvart hides a beautiful and charming chateau as well as a number of sanatoria for children. The chateau was founded in the 16th century. The original Renaissance chateau was soon reconstructed in a Baroque style. The final modifications in the Classicist spirit were performed in the 19th century by the Austrian Chancellor Metternich who owned the chateau until the end of World War II.

Klement Metternich is the author of the collection forming most of the exhibits. The tour takes the visitors to 25 rooms – representation halls as well as private boudoirs. Do not miss the chateau park during your visit to Kynžvart.
