Butterfly Farm Žírovice

The village of Žírovice is located two kilometres north-east of Františkovy Lázně. You will find a unique collection of live and preserved butterflies explaining a lot of points of interest about these beautiful creatures there. You can get to Žírovice by car, or you can easily walk along the red tourist path.

The Butterfly House in Žírovice hides a large tropical greenhouse full of butterflies from Africa, South America, South and East Asia and Australia in all of their development stages – eggs, caterpillars, pupas (chrysalis) and adults.

What will you find in the Butterfly House:

• A greenhouse with exotic species of live butterflies, from the egg to the adult form
• A collection of preserved butterflies – entomological museum
• Gift shop

The staff of the Bohemia Hotel Františkovy Lázně will be happy to arrange a visit to the butterfly farm for you. You can stop there on your way to the natural reserve of SOOS, for example.
